How to run the station

Programming it across the year
This is an off-season and showcase-prep tool first. In the off-season, run it once or twice a week as part of a broader throwing and arm-strength program, and log each player's session peak so you can watch the trend across weeks — that trend line is the whole payoff. In season, dial it back: shorter distance, 90% effort, fewer reps, treated as a throwing day and spaced away from game-heavy stretches.
Age and readiness matter. Reserve the full max-intent version for players who are physically mature (roughly 14U and up), fully ramped, and already have sound throwing mechanics. Younger or in-season athletes should run the identical station at a shorter marked distance and sub-max effort, chasing clean, repeatable throws rather than peaks. And always pair it with strength and arm-care work — intent and mechanics unlock the velocity a player already has, but arm strength built over months is what raises the ceiling.
