Machine-Fed Throw-to-Target Drill: Make Infield Accuracy a Number
Feed identical ground balls from a machine or front-toss so an infielder can bank a big, consistent sample of throws at a base-sized target - and measure exactly what share hit the zone. Repeatable reps turn throwing accuracy into a trackable number.
⏱ ~25 min📋 Warm-up: dynamic arm care + 10-12 build-up throws; then 3-4 sets of 15 scored machine-fed (or front-toss) field-and-throw reps, 60-90 sec rest between sets
What you'll need
- Pitching machine (ground-ball feed) or L-screen for front-toss
- Throwing target - pop-up net with marked zone or base with hung target
- Bucket of 15-20 balls
- Glove
- Cones to mark the fielding spot
